Back in 2019, I was training out of a warehouse space in East Van with maybe six people who'd show up at 6 AM. We had some kettlebells, a couple of heavy bags I'd hung myself, and honestly? That's where the magic started happening. People weren't just getting fit - they were finding something they didn't know they had in them.
I'd spent years competing in MMA circuits across Canada and training with some incredible coaches who taught me that real strength isn't about looking good in a mirror. It's about what you can actually DO when things get tough. After my last fight in 2018, I knew I wanted to pass that forward.
By 2021, we'd outgrown three different spaces. The community kept growing - not because of fancy marketing, but because people got results and they told their friends. That's still how most of our members find us today.
When we opened the Burrard Street facility in 2023, it felt surreal. But walking in every morning and seeing people push through workouts they thought were impossible three months ago? That never gets old.

Milestones that actually matter to us
Started with 6 people in a warehouse. No fancy equipment, just kettlebells and determination. First unofficial "Glaivor" training session happens at 6 AM on a freezing January morning.
Officially registered as a business. Hit 30 regular members and had to move to a bigger space in Gastown. Added our first proper boxing equipment.
Pandemic hits. Pivoted to outdoor training sessions in parks and virtual coaching. Honestly thought we might not make it, but the community showed up.
Completed CSCS certification and added Sarah to the team. Started developing our structured strength programs. Member count back to 50+.
Second location opens in Kitsilano. Jake joins as our combat specialist. Started running dedicated HIIT combat classes three times a week.
Three of our athletes qualify for regional MMA competitions. Added nutrition planning with Dr. Patel joining the team. Hit 120 active members across both locations.
Consolidated into our flagship Burrard Street facility - 8,000 sq ft of proper training space. Added recovery room and mobility studio. This is what we always dreamed of.
Tom joins for mobility and recovery programs. Full coaching staff in place. Started running workshops for other trainers in the Vancouver area.
One of our athletes wins provincial amateur MMA championship. Member retention rate hits 94%. Added advanced body composition analysis equipment.
200+ active members, waiting list for personal training slots. Still showing up at 5:45 AM every day. Still learning. Still pushing forward.
